HCM Technology Report News RoundupWorkday acquired the “talent agility platform” RallyTeam, calling the deal “another step in Workday’s efforts to continually invest in machine learning.” In a blog post, Workday Vice President of HCM Products Cristina Goldt wrote that with RallyTeam, Workday will gain “deep expertise” to apply to its talent-acquisition solutions.

Degreed acquired the social-learning platform Pathgather, saying the deal “solidifies” its lead in the market for learning-experience platforms. All of Pathgather’s employees, including founder and CEO Eric Duffy, are joining Degreed, bringing its headcount to over 230 people.

TriNet introduced TriNet Professional Services, an industry-specific product designed to address the HR needs of professional services firms in areas such as consulting, advertising and other expertise-driven sectors. TriNet already has vertical-specific HR solutions covering technology, life sciences, nonprofits, financial services firms and others. TPS offers a bundled solution that includes comprehensive benefits, payroll administration, performance management, applicant tracking, time and attendance, expense management and other HR features, delivered by HR professionals who specialize in working with professional services firms.

WalkMe acquired DeepUI, a stealth-mode company that has developed a patented machine learning technology to understand any business software at the graphical user interface level without the need for an API. The companies say DeepUI’s algorithms can anticipate individual users’ needs, automatically creating customized step-by-step guidance to complete tasks in the quickest and most efficient way possible.

Ultimate Software and iCIMS will feature a new product integration within each company’s marketplace. As part of the deal, Ultimate and iCIMS now offer a seamless platform-to-platform integration between iCIMS’ talent acquisition software and Ultimate’s UltiPro suite of HR, payroll and talent management products.

ADP and Slack will offer mutual customers simpler access to HR and payroll information. The integration will be available through the ADP Marketplace’s APIs. Slack says more than 8 million people use its collaboration platform.

Homebase, which provides software to help small businesses schedule shifts and track time for hourly workers, launched Homebase Hiring. The San Francisco company, which focuses on serving “Main Street” businesses such as restaurants, retailers and health and beauty shops, says it has 100,000 customers across the U.S. using its scheduling, timesheet and communications tools. Homebase Hiring is designed to help them more easily find candidates, manage job listings, schedule interviews and onboard employees. The company recently closed a $20 million Series B funding round led by Bain Capital Ventures.

HR tech provider Gusto launched Flexible Pay, a feature that allows employees to choose their own pay schedule. The company said Flexible Pay can help workers better manage their finances or stay on top of their finances or react to sudden expenses without using “payday” or other high-interest loans like credit cards. Eligible employees set up direct deposits of their earned wages through their Gusto account and choose when they want to get paid, which can be as soon as the next day.

TransferWise launched a batch payments tool that allows customers to make up to 1,000 international payroll and supplier payments at one time. With it, the New York-based company says businesses can pay remote workers, freelancers, invoices and others in over 45 currrencies from a single file. The company also said it’s surpassed the $1 billion milestone in borderless account deposits, 10 months after it launched.

Internal communications platform SocialChorus secured $12.5 million in growth financing co-led by B2B software specialist Arrowroot Capital and Kohlberg Ventures, with participation from Western Technology Investment. The company said its business has more than doubled in the last year as more employers prioritize workforce communications.

Recruiting software provider Greenhouse has integrated JobTip’s social recruiting technology into its platform. As a result, Greenhouse said, its customers will now be able to post targeted social ads for open roles.

HireIQ’s AI-driven SaaS recruiting software is now available on the Genesys AppFoundry, marketplace. Employers using the Genesys PureEngage, PureConnect or PureCloud platforms can use HireIQ to automatically assess candidates using voice characteristics and predictive analytics, the company said. Genesys is a leading provider of omnichannel customer experience and contact center solutions.

Terryberry, headquartered in Grand Rapids, Mich., introduced a cloud-based employee wellness portal—Terryberry Wellness—that provides wellness education and activities, as well as social encouragement and rewards for healthy behaviors. The product results from the company’s partnership with WellRight, a wellness program firm that offers health assessments, biometrics and wellness education.

Portsmouth, N.H.-based PoliteMail unveiled Syncronym, a software system that automates employee distribution list management and maintenance. The company says Syncronym addresses issues related to inaccurate email distribution and allows corporate communicators with self-service tools to easily create more targeted lists within Outlook.
