SuccessFactors to Integrate Kronos Workforce Dimensions

Kronos-SAP Mobile Time Card

SAP SuccessFactors announced an agreement to resell Kronos Workforce Dimensions under the name “SAP Time Management by Kronos.”

In a blog post, SAP SuccessFactors Director of Solution Management Paul Meredith indicated the partnership represents the most effective way for SuccessFactors to deliver on its time and attendance strategy. That strategy, he said, is to serve employers of all sizes and in all industries around the world with accurate time and payroll tools that are simple to use and time-effective.

“SAP and Kronos share the same view that the future of work belongs to intelligent enterprises that leverage technology to create, innovate and deliver great outcomes for their employees and customers,” Meredith wrote.

SuccessFactors will continue to develop its own Employee Central Time Management application, even while it invests in partnerships—such as the one with Kronos—that “help us accelerate and deliver innovative key solutions.” Workforce Dimensions is well-positioned to support SAP’s strategy because, first, it’s a native cloud platform and, second, it’s designed to support numerous types of workers and numerous scenarios regarding work rules and regulations, he said.

Workforce Dimensions’ cloud-based heritage is worth noting, since SAP has been on a campaign to move more of its customers off-premise recently. According to the website Market Realist, the company’s overall cloud subscription revenue jumped 41 percent in 2018’s third quarter compared to the year-ago period.

‘Extend and Complement’ SuccessFactors

In announcing the agreement, SAP said Workforce Dimensions will both extend and complement the SuccessFactors HCM suite. Kronos will support SAP Time Management deployments with its Paragon implementation methodology as well as its global support and professional services.

SAP and Kronos plan to expand their collaboration to include joint research in analytics, data science and artificial intelligence. Together, the companies hope to “identify future opportunities to improve workforce efficiency and the overall employee experience.”

SuccessFactors has a global user base of 1.7 billion workers, while Kronos supports 40 million users in 35,000 organizations.

Meredith assured users that the integration of SAP and SAP Time Management by Kronos will be seamless, with uniform interfaces and complete APIs available through the Kronos D5 platform, which Workforce Dimensions is built on. In addition, changes to employee and cost-center information will automatically trigger updates in the Kronos module.
