Oracle Cloud HCM added new products and features with an emphasis on personalized “journeys” for employees and enhanced data for use by HR teams.

The updates came along with new capabilities added to a number of its cloud applications, including Enterprise Resource Planning, Enterprise Performance Management and Supply Chain Management.

“After everything that has happened this year, we are now navigating an entirely new workplace with new demands and challenges,” observed Chris Leone, senior vice president at Oracle Cloud HCM. HR professionals work in an “extremely difficult” situation, he said, and the updates are meant to both improve the employee experience and simplify at least some of the complex processes burdening HR.

Oracle is speaking broadly when it talks about “the employee experience.” Its new features are designed to provide “personalized employee journeys” that improve and personalize the experience whenever workers encounter situations that require them to follow specific procedures. This could include, for example, changing their address or adding a family member to their benefits portfolio.

However, Emily He, Oracle Cloud HCM’s senior vice president of global marketing, said the idea of “Journeys” goes beyond traditional processes such as onboarding and offboarding. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, organizations have launched a number of initiatives that require employees to follow a process, she observed. These include understanding work-from-home policies, preparing for a return to the office or taking advantage of new mental health benefits. “We rolled out Journeys to make it easier for HR to roll out these initiatives by putting together a sequence of steps that make it easier for people to follow,” she said.

Internal Opportunities

Meanwhile, new career development tools help organizations adapt to shifts in workforce needs and streamline their career mobility processes. Major modules here include the Opportunity Marketplace, which helps workers identify new opportunities in-house, and Open Jobs for My Career, which surfaces relevant roles as they become available, and makes it easier for workers to apply.

On the HR side, Oracle Cloud HCM unveiled several features that it says will make life easier for HR, and improve data accuracy. They include:

  • Payroll Connect connects with payroll partners to make data accessible through Oracle Cloud HCM in real time directly.
  • Anytime Pay allows employees to get paid for time worked in advance of their pay cycle.
  • Updates to Experience Design Studio improve data accuracy for HR teams by expanding autocomplete and localization features.

Oracle also added a pre-built Diversity Dashboard to help HR identify statistic and trends that can be applied to improving an organization’s D&I efforts.

In May, Oracle launched Oracle Analytics for Cloud HCM, a self-service application designed to provide more detailed workforce intelligence by gathering data from across the organization. It was the latest offering in the Oracle Analytics for Fusion Applications suite.
