Recruiting platform Bullhorn has acquired Herefish, a St. Louis-based provider of staffing automation solutions. The company said adding Herefish’s tools will allow it to offer customers additional options to streamline their processes.

Herefish’s solutions automate a variety of manual processes and messaging chores, which in turn helps employers improve recruiter productivity, data accuracy and collaboration. On average, Herefish automates more than 7 million actions per month, Bullhorn said That saves each recruiter more than two hours per day, the company claims.

Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Herefish will operate as a separate business unit within Bullhorn, co-founder and CMO Travis Arnold said in a blog post. “By joining the Bullhorn family our entire roadmap will accelerate, including the introduction of AI and machine learning on top of our automation foundation,” he wrote.

The company plans to extend its integrations to touch areas of Bullhorn such as jobs, companies and leads, Arnold said. It will also enhance surveys, dashboards and other aspects of its UI, grow its partner network, and develop more middle and back-office integrations.

Bullhorn CEO Art Papas said Herefish provides “critical building blocks” that staffing firms need to keep pace with customer demands. Sounding a familiar Bullhorn theme, he said “a fully digitized infrastructure with automated processes” is key for staffing businesses to remain competitive.

Herefish was founded in 2014 and has been a Bullhorn Marketplace partner for several years. Its solutions addresses scenarios such as candidate rediscovery, contractor outreach, automating talent and client engagement, and tracking candidate and client activity to trigger communications.

In December, Bullhorn revamped its marketplace to include resources for building customer technology stacks and increase its focus on helping customers develop partner solutions. The marketplace offers staffing firms more than 100 pre-built integration, all of them validated by its support team.
