JobSage Launches to Share Employer Intelligence with Candidates

JobSage, a new employer-review site, launched to help candidates learn about potential employers and, while they’re at it, put pressure on Glassdoor.

In August 4.3 million Americans quit their job, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Meanwhile, an estimated 65% of workers are looking for a new job and 88% of executives said they’re experiencing higher-than-normal turnover. In the midst of that market, JobSage said, candidates need help determining whether a prospective employer shares their values.

Up Against Glassdoor

JobSage proposes to assist job seekers by throwing a light on areas that matter most to them, things like inclusive workplaces, opportunities for growth, a sense of purpose, meaningful feedback and flexibility. It does this by “partnering directly with employers who value authenticity,” the company said. Because it’s a third party, the platform can maintain employee anonymity and provide a “safe space” where workers can share their honest opinions without fear

So far, the company’s signed partnerships with companies, Planoly and AIQUEOUS to help them create a more open candidate experience. That, the company said, will help it create a more transparent recruiting experience in order to both attract and retain talent.  

Now all that remains for the company to do is square off against Glassdoor, a site with similar offerings but years of experience behind it. Recently, the company added a new chief product officer, Andy Chen, who same from Match Group, where he was senior vice president of the company’s innovation team.  

Meanwhile, Rodrigo Oliveira joined as chief technology officer from WW, while Owen Humphries, who joined Glassdoor in 2016, became chief financial officer.

In February, Glassdoor completed the acquisition of Fishbowl, a social network used by more than 1 million professionals to engage in conversations about career, industry and workplace-related topics. Because of Fishbowl’s focus on building connections and conversations for working professionals, the company said the two platforms are highly complementary and will help users get the information necessary to make more informed career decisions.
