Jobvite Launches Job Description Tool to Help Tamp Down Bias

Diversity Meeting

Jobvite launched a Job Description Grader, a complimentary tool that reviews job descriptions and highlights areas that can be modified to create more inclusive postings.

The feature’s designed to help employers target areas where bias appears in job postings. It uses AI, data analytics and benchmarks to analyze job descriptions and identify requirements, experiences and language that may impact an applicant pool during screening and evaluation.

The grader considers gender bias, racial bias, insensitive word use, readability and sentiment, and leverages “multiple deep learning models” to detect if and where job descriptions may exhibit bias.

In a statement, Jobvite CEO Aman Brar said the company believes Job Description Grader “can help organizations strategically build a more diverse pipeline of talent and ensure today’s workforce is more reflective of the world we live in.”

In December, Jobvite said it would expand the available integrations between its ATS and LinkedIn Recruiter, making it the first ATS to offer LinkedIn Unified Search, Recommended Matches and Apply Connect integrations.

Unified Search allows recruiters to source candidates from both the LinkedIn network and Jobvite records through a single search, conducted on either platform. Recommended Matches enables recruiters to post new job requisitions in Jobvite, then source from a pipeline of candidates from LinkedIn.

Apply Connect is intended to save recruiters time and improve the candidate experience. Recruiters can use it to automatically post jobs on LinkedIn, then receive applications within Jobvite. Users can access LinkedIn applicant data including skills, company connections and profile, again within Jobvite. On the candidate side, users can complete job applications without leaving LinkedIn, and are notified when their application has been viewed or a job has closed.

The company also launched a consulting service last year to help talent acquisition leaders better leverage recruitment data. The AI Innovation Lab leverages predictive analytics, data science, machine learning, and AI to help companies improve TA effectiveness, improve their talent pool, reduce bias, eliminate redundant costs and optimize processes.
