iCIMS Acquires Data Science Firm for New AI Product

iCIMS acquired Opening.io, an Irish data science company that applies AI to talent acquisition, and launched a new product based on its technology, iCIMS Talent Logic.

Talent Logic pairs Opening.io’s solution with iCIMS extensive set of hiring data points, which the company says numbers in the billions. The product’s meant to help HR, recruiters and hiring managers identify, connect with and hire candidates more quickly and efficiently.

Based in Dublin, Opening.io developed what it calls a “talent recommender engine” that leverages machine intelligence for use by large-scale recruitment processes such as matching and ranking candidates, skills cataloging, salary recommendations, parsing, and analysis of resumes intelligence around talent pools.

iCIMS CEO Steve Lucas expects Talent Logic will help customers realize shorter times to hire, lower costs and find better matches for open roles. The acquisition and product launch will help “demonstrate iCIMS’ position as an innovative leader in AI for talent,” he said.

Well-Timed for iCIMS

As job seekers flood the marketing in the wake of COVID-19-related layoffs, the launch of Talent Logic may be particularly timely. In a statement providing by iCIMS, IDC Research Director Megan Buttita said the combination of Opening.io’s “robust native engine” and iCIMS’ existing AI and customer database “will yield extremely powerful machine learning capabilities.”

The resulting product should help employers become more efficient throughout the talent acquisition process, improve workforce planning and aid diversity & inclusion efforts. “By casting a wider net, employers can surface candidates they may not have considered previously, which will support them in building a diverse workforce,” Buttita said.

iCIMS offers three suites of products to attract, engage and hire workers. In February, the company joined Ceridian’s Dayforce Software Partner Program and  began working on an integration with Ceridian’s HCM solution. It was the latest of a series of integrations iCIMS has announced in recent months, including deals with OutMatch and LinkedIn in November.
