iCIMS acquired recruiting technology platform Jibe with an eye toward strengthening its offerings in employer branding, candidate engagement and tracking the return on recruiting investments.

Jibe will power iCIMS’ new recruitment marketing solution, Attract, which is available as either part of its core platform or as the front end of other, integrated ATS or HCM solutions.

In a statement provided by iCIMS, Madeline Laurano of Aptitude Research Partners said the deal will provide customers with a more consistent experience, better insights and improved efficiency in their talent acquisition efforts. Taken together, iCIMS’ and Jibe’s products should help employers improve their recruiting by attracting the right candidates at the top of the funnel, she believes.

New York City-based Jibe delivers candidate experience solutions through branded career sites, landing pages and personalized recommendations. It uses machine learning to present applicants with more relevant job search results and recruiters with more relevant candidates. On the back end, Job provides organizations with detailed real-time reporting.

Jibe CEO Joe Essenfeld said his company, as a part if iCIMS, will be able to invest more in product innovation. The businesses have complementary strengths and aligned missions, he said, which they can leverage into “an incredible opportunity to grow.”

On the surface, iCIMS’ bread and butter is providing an engaging and well-tracked end-to-end candidate experience. However, the company’s been actively adding new capabilities or integrations that provide customers with a range of additional capabilities including assessments and background screenings. In 2018, iCIMS acquired TextRecruit, a platform that helps recruiters engage candidates through text messaging and live chat.

iCIMS says that when combined with Jibe’s capabilities, these enhancements will allow it to offer better engagement services across verticals and throughout multiple levels of candidate career paths.

Separately, Glassdoor named iCIMS CEO Colin Day as one of its top SMB leaders for 2019.
