iCIMS has acquired SkillSurvey, a talent intelligence platform that offers skills verification and digital reference checking. Terms weren’t disclosed.

SkillSurvey’s reference-checking solution aims to help organizations bring new employees on board more quickly. The platform verifies skills and gathers feedback from references in a way that can be used earlier in the hiring process, the company said. SkillSurvey also offers credentialing solutions for healthcare organizations.

Together, the companies say they’ll help businesses attract, engage, hire and advance talent. iCIMS CEO Steve Lucas said his company’s Talent Cloud and SkillSurvey will help employers automate the assessment and verification of candidate skills.

With the acquisition, iCIMS believes its 4,000 customers will be able to reduce both the time and cost of traditional reference checking. SkillSurvey worked with industrial and organizational psychologists to develop its library of job-specific surveys, which are designed to help references rate candidates on specific behaviors relevant to a given job.

“Joining iCIMS will provide our customers with deeper support and innovative solutions across the entire talent journey,” said SkillSurvey President and CEO Ray Bixler, “and we will be able to help more organizations transform burdensome processes into streamlined, automated business practices.”

Founded in 2001, SkillSurvey is based in Malvern, Pa.

Building Up

In March, iCIMS acquired Candidate.ID, a marketing automation software provider that helps talent acquisition teams target candidates with unique lead scoring and automated marketing campaigns. The company’s software automates repetitive candidate-engagement tasks and allows TA professionals to personalize and manage engagement workflows with customizable multi-channel campaigns. iCIMS planned to add the functionality to iCIMS Talent Cloud.

Earlier this month, iCIMS announced new features designed to help employers take advantage of talent intelligence, widen their automation efforts and assist current employees in developing their next career opportunity. The company’s fall release also expanded iCIMS’s analytics offering with new predictive analytics, simplifies sourcing workflows.
