Modern Hire

Modern Hire introduced new tools designed to make the hiring process more personal for everyone involved in the process.

Chief Product Officer Peter Baskin said the features were incorporated directly into Modern Hire’s platform, allowing all customers to take advantage of them.

The enhancements include a job-preview feature, email templates based on interview stage and updated UI for recruiters and hiring managers.

  • Realistic Job Previews enable employers to provide candidates with an idea of what’s involved in a role before the interview process begins. They provide information such on areas such as company culture, as well as the challenges and opportunities candidates may face on the job. Modern Hire said the feature is designed to self-serve in order to lower operating cost.
  • Stage-Level Email Templates provide employers with customized, personalized approach to candidate communications. By enabling configuration based on the interview stage and nuances of the job, hiring teams can provide more relevant information about the position and organization, the hiring process and where candidates stand.
  • Updated UI for managers and recruiters is, the company’s words, “a more modern, efficient way to evaluate candidate interviews and streamline hiring decisions.”

The last few months have been busy ones for Modern Hire. In July, the company acquired Dublin-based Sonru, a provider of automated video interviewing technology. The deal brought in Sonru’s eight offices in Europe, Asia and North America was a step into the global marketplace for the company, even as it added the kind of video capabilities that recruiting platforms have become more and more interested in as the Covid-19 pandemic continues.

The company got a new leader in August, when Karin Borchert became CEO. Previously, she’d led product information firm 1WorldSync, was executive vice president of client services for Sterling Talent Solutions, and held several executive roles at Dow Jones.
